Congratulations to Mrs. Lewis and her students for two very successful performances of their play "Character Matters". We appreciate all who came out to the show and supported this wonderful cast.

During our day of professional development for teachers, we took a few minutes to share some recognitions. Mrs. Pinnock was nominated for a RISE award for the great things she does with the TLC program. Our 3rd grade team was recognized by the state and district for achieving more than 10% growth from the end of year 2024 to 2025 as measured by acadience. We are so lucky to have teachers of this caliber at Highland. They make a difference for our students every day.

A couple of reminders for the long weekend. -Remember to "spring forward" and move your clocks ahead an hour tonight. - Enjoy the three day weekend as students gave the day off while teachers participate in professional development.

Our Stand 4 Kind students have used their creativity and have shared a positive message mural in the hallway of the school near the lunchroom. Take a moment to look at the pictures and read the message: "Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring. All of which have the potential to turn a life around."

Our 3rd-6th Graders have participated in two mornings of Battle of the Books Round Robin competitions. It's been amazing to watch them share their knowledge of the books they've read.

We are still in need of volunteers for next week's elimination rounds. Please help us make these next rounds as good as this week's have been. Volunteer to help here:

Our Kindergarten and New Student Enrollment is ongoing....AND the registration for Alpine School District Preschool Opens today. Please help us spread the word to neighbors/community members with students wanting to attend Highland or Preschool. Thanks

Battle of the Books Round Robin Rounds begin tomorrow!

3rd/4th Grade students will have their competitions tomorrow and 5th/6th Grade students competitions are on Wednesday. If you have a student participating, please help them be at school on time as the battles begin right when school starts.

Welcome to March!

This week is National Read Across America Week. To support the love of reading, Highland will be hosting our own Stories and Pastries on Friday, March 6th. Come from 7:20-7:50 and enjoy a sweet morning with books and donuts. We are also inviting students to bring with them their own stuffed friend to hear the stories and spend the day with them.

Splash Summit also sponsors a reading program in March. If you would like to participate, complete the calendar tracking your 500 minutes and the permission rules and guidelines form and turn them in at the office. All completed forms received by Spring Break will be turned in to Summit for a free Child's Day Pass.

We're also hosting Battle of the Books Round Robin Competitions this week. 3rd/4th graders will compete on Tuesday and 5th/6th graders will compete on Wednesday. This is always a fun and exciting couple of days for those students to show what they remember from this year's book titles.

It's a busy reading themed week and we are excited to share it with our students. Please make note on your calendars that there is NO SCHOOL Monday, March 9th for Teacher PD Day.

Congratulations to the many students who learned a story and performed for their classes and the judges. The eight student storytellers who wowed the judges earlier this week were chosen to share their stories for the student body and their parents this afternoon at a storytelling exhibition assembly. We appreciate Mrs. Bee and her efforts bring this opportunity to our students.

Thanks to everyone who came to the Classic Skate Night. It was so fun to see you there. We appreciate the PTA for sponsoring this fun family activity.

It's family Skate Night at Classic Skating. Come anytime between 4:30-8:30PM tonight and have some fun! We'll have our traditional picture on the center of the rink at 5:30PM. Please remember this is only announced on the rink side, so you'll want to be on that side a few minutes early to participate.

Did you know at our Cluster High Schoo: Lone Peak High School, they run a preschool called Camelot Kids Preschool. The tuition is extremely low while offering a really great and educational experience for preschoolers.
