Parents - if your students shirt is too big/little - new, non-decorated shirts can be exchanged for a different size either Wednesday or Thursday morning before school. Mrs. Harker will be available to make those exchanges at the front of the school near the flag pole.
THANK YOU FAMILIES for your donations. We made such a HUGE jump toward our goal overnight. Students are SO close to earning their school wide epic lunch and rock party where we will tape Mr. Killpack to the wall. Students may come home and tell you all about it.

The School Flag for Hawk Walk was unfurled this morning...it's Hawk Walk Week!! Today students made it half way to our ultimate goal and reached their fan favorite reward - CANDY FROM THE ROOF!
Today is your last day to pay for Race Kits and purchase upgraded SWAG. Kits will be sent home tomorrow so that students have time to decorate their shirts.
We're only half way to our ultimate fundraising goal...you can still donate. Help us reach that ultimate goal and we'll have a ROCK PARTY lunch, EAT with Mr. Killpack AND TAPE HIM TO THE WALL!!
Keep watching for daily updates this week on how our total is growing and get ready to RACE ON FRIDAY.

We want to thank our corporate sponsors! Check out this slideshow to see all them: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1vNwmJvLuHM19NrjHUuO09cRV8QX4xqQ3/view?usp=sharing

Hawk Walk Fact for today: learn which team your child(ren) is on by checking out the different eras they represent on the graphic. You can help your child's team climb to the lead with additional donations.

Our Lead Singer is Team Blue (70s)! Backup Singer Green (80s) is close behind and our Yellow Ensemble (60s) takes the chorus . Check the board at the entry each day to see which colored Hawk Rocker is on top.
Our Hawk Walk fact for today is all about what the Hawk Walk looks like. The Hawk Walk is a long standing tradition full of fun! Check it out :)

Hawk Walk Update: Thank you for your support! We've earned the eras dress up days and are closing in on the opportunity to bring a stuffed animal friend to school (this will happen the week of October 6th). To track which "era" is in the lead, we have colored microphones for Happy the Hawk to hold. He'll be holding the current leader color each morning. Today that honor goes to our blue team which is the 70s era! Way to go 70s!!
We often get asked a lot about the Hawk Walk, so each day we'll also share an important Hawk Walk Fact. Today we are sharing how the funds for the Hawk Walk are spent. The funds are used to support the PTA, the Classes, and our School. Check out the graphic for details.

Our Hawk Walk fundraiser is off to a great start and we've almost reached the first prize of a school wide eras dress up day. Order your race kit now so you'll be ready for race day. Remember the Hawk Walk races are on September 19th. Race kits need to be purchased by September 15th. Keep watching to see how the blue line increases as we get closer and closer to taping Mr. Killpack to the wall!!
Our 5th grade students will go to Clear Creek this Friday. This is such a wonderful field trip full of learning, team building, and fun! Thanks to our parents who have helped support this activity and made it possible for them to attend

A quick reminder that there is NO SCHOOL on Monday in observance of the Labor Day Holiday. We hope you all have a great long weekend.
Attached to this email is our first newsletter of the school year. We hope you'll take the opportunity to look it over. See the fun things that have happened in August and check out what is coming up next. Our most exciting event of the year will kick off next week - next Friday we will kick off the Hawk Walk at a fun assembly. We'll send out all of the details about the Hawk Walk next Friday.
Thanks for helping make Highland such a great place to be!

Fundraiser Friday: Check out our most recent corporate sponsors - Lawrence Championship Martial Arts, Prince Orthodontics, Utah Valley Eye, Vero Dental, and Fiiz. We are so thankful for the support of these and our other sponsors. Today is the last day to become a corporate sponsor of the Hawk Walk - if you've been on the fence and want to support us reach out today so we can make sure we get your logo on the Hawk Walk shirts.
We are looking forward the the Hawk Walk Fundraiser kickoff next Friday. Stay tuned for details and get ready to have lots of fun with us!

The orders for new Highland Hawks shirts/hoodies are due tomorrow, August 29th. Call the office if you have any questions.

These are great reminders of dress code standards for students as well. If shoulder straps are regularly falling down or shorts are requiring frequent adjustment or tugging, they might not be right for wearing to school where we move and play all day.
PLEASE make sure your child is wearing good athletic shoes on their PE specialty day. We ask this to ensure they are able to play the games and move safely.

- Don't ask students to go between buses when being picked up or dropped off.
- Be kind to others as we are loading, riding, and unloading the bus.
- Sit correctly in the seat for safety through the whole ride.
- Parents - our buses are very full this year. Please don't ask for groups of students to ride with your child on the bus - there simply isn't room and drivers may not allow them on.
- Check out the Stopfinder app if you haven't already. This app is a great way to not only find your bus stop but get live bus information daily. You will need an invite from transportation for the app, let us know if you need one.

Happy Monday!
We have several restaurant coupons that have been left at the office. One of them is the remainder of the Waffle Love summer reading cards. The others are expiring at the end of the month. If you would be able to use any of them, please pick them up at the office or let us know and we can send them home with a student.
