What a fun rewards day. With all of our students' stuffed animal friends spending time in class, to the PTA sponsored recess games, and of course Mr. Killpack hiring candy from the roof!! It's been a wonderful day at school.

It's here...one of our students' most favorite days of the year...it's CANDY FROM THE ROOF!! Tomorrow Mr. Killpack will throw candy from the roof for each grade level during their recess. Tomorrow students can also bring a stuffed animal with them to school and participate in a variety of recess games at lunch recess. We are all very excited. 😁🎉👏

Kindergarten students had lots of fun with the new additions to the playground. Some wiggle cars and bounce on balls got lots of attention today. Though the novelty will wear off these will be some extra elements of play they can continue to enjoy.

We hope you got a chance to see our student body thumbprint rainbow hanging in the main hallway during your visit for parent teacher conferences. We want to thank our art teachers Mrs. Peterson, Mrs. Darrington, and Mrs. Sparks for helping our students create this wonderful art display that connects our students in kindness and creativity, and also shows off their individuality.

We want to make sure and thank Marc and his custodial crew for the amazing work they do taking care of our building and maintenance needs. From sick kids to broken HVACs he is tirelessly dedicated to making sure everything he can take care of is under control (and tries to help so much with those things even not in his control).
Thank you Marc for ensuring we have a clean and safe place to be every school day!

Please check the lost and found when you are here for parent/teacher conferences. There are several items that have been lost for a long time. It's also a great chance to see the location (just across from the office) for when coats/jackets go missing as the weather gets colder.

We have an amazing update for our fundraiser - the students (with your donations) had gotten us so, so close to the goal...but then just as we thought we were going to end up just shy of the total, we got word that the Nicholes family has made a VERY substantial generous donation and another matching donation to take us WAY over the top!! ALL Students will get ALL of the rewards including a super fun decades dance party and a phenomenal lunch where we will also TAPE MR. KILLPACK TO A WALL!!
We want to thank the Nicholes family and their corporate partners for ensuring that our fundraiser was such a great success and that ALL of our students get to participate in these great rewards.
If you haven't seen it yet, each student brought home their lap card with their total laps and a free treat from a local business sponsor.

Good afternoon Highland Hawks!
It's Hawk Walk Eve. Here are all the things you need to know:
• Most important!! Students MUST still follow school dress code and have sneakers to run (please no crocks in sport mode they are unsafe for this race). Shoes and Shirts have to stay on at all times. No bellies should be seen, and shorts should not be extremely short.
• Upper grade students (4-6) will run from 9:00-9:30 and the lower grade students (K-3) will run from 10:00-10:30.
• All exterior doors to the school will be locked at 8:30AM until after the second race.
• EVERY student will receive their water bottle tomorrow morning from their teacher.
• Checkouts can be done after each race with your child’s teacher. If you need a student from the opposite race group you must go to the office.
• All three gates (parking lot, back field, and south of the gym) will be unlocked tomorrow morning. Please access the staging area by going through one of those gates. The PTA check-in table will be near the playground and the 1st grade doors.
• PARKING = PLEASE be courteous of our neighbors – do not block any driveways. Remember there is no parking on the bus curb until after 8:15AM. We know the Hawk Walk brings a lot of extra parking traffic to the area. If possible please carpool. The back gate will lock at 11AM; please plan accordingly.
We are looking forward to a great race day tomorrow.

An accident on northbound I-15 in the Lindon area has caused significant delays on the freeway and artery roads.
This road closure will impact busing throughout the district. We anticipate bus delays at multiple schools, including activity buses.
All routes will be completed, but it is unknown how long this will take.
